How to Submit your Resume to Barefoot Software:

If you would like to send us your resume via hardcopy, you may fax it to (888) 846-FOOT. At some point, however, we will have to have your resume in some type of electronic format. We need this so that we can reformat it into a standard format for our clients. We do not change the content at all, but we may change the presentation and order, and we may trim parts that are not relevant to a certain client. You may request that your reformatted resume be sent to you for approval before being sent to a client but this can slow down the hiring process.

We can accept resumes in the following formats: plain ASCII, PostScript, RTF, MS Word (Office 97 or earlier), or WordPerfect (version 6 or earlier). Please email your resume to jobs@barefoot.net. If we like your resume, we'll probably ask you to submit a code sample or sample project plan. We use this as a way to gauge your technical expertise. If you'd like to include your sample with your resume, you may do so. The guidelines we use for samples are at the end of this page.

Other questions we'll ask you are:

1) Which business industries do you have experience in? Would you like to continue working in a particular industry, or would you like to move on to new things?
2) Which areas of computer science (e.g., design, project management, Windows coding, QA, etc) do you have experience in? would you like to continue working in a particular area or move on to different ones?
3) Would you like to be placed in a consulting (usually 40 hrs/wk on customer site) position or would you prefer a project development (very flexible hours, not a steady schedule) position?
4) What do you consider the most important thing you want to get from Barefoot? Is it money (how much?), training (in what?), something else?
5) Do you prefer a specific location? D.C, Northern Virginia, Maryland? You can include your answers to these questions along with your Resume and code sample if you want to save some time.
